Subinoy Das, MD, FACS is the Director of The Ohio State University Sinus and Allergy Center and Assistant Professor in The Ohio State University Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Das has been recognized as one the nation's best sinus surgeons and received an award as one of America's top physicians. In addition, he is a Research Associate of the Center of Microbial Pathogenesis at the Research Institute, Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Das received his undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia, where he received the Alfred Burger Award for the top pre-medical student at the University. He received the Edwin Pullen Full Merit Scholarship to attend the University of Virginia School of Medicine, where he was elected President of his class, received Alpha Omega Alpha Honors, and received the Richard Bowman Scholarship for the top clinical performance. He attended the University of North Carolina for his residency training and completed a fellowship in advanced sinus surgery at the Medical College of Georgia.
Dr. Das’ clinical interests include: advanced sinus surgery, minimally invasive sinus surgery without nasal packing, sinonasal tumors, endoscopic repairs of cerebrospinal fluid leaks, computer guided sinus surgery, minimally invasive access to the pituitary gland, and individualizing sinus surgery to each particular patient. Dr. Das has given national presentations and has published several articles on sinus surgery, including the use of real-time imaging for sinus surgery, the effects of smoking on sinus surgery, and the use of advanced testing to better diagnose the causes of sinusitis in patients.
Dr. Das’ research interests include understanding how viruses and bacteria contribute to the development of chronic sinusitis. He received the James Harrill Research Award from the Triological Society for his work on the effects of respiratory synctial virus on human sinus epithelium and has received funding the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the National Institutes of Health to support his research endeavors.
