Dr. Merz graduated cum laude from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in 2002, where she was also a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Her internship and residency were completed at University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center, with clinical work at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago and Cook County Hospital. Dr. Merz served as Administrative Chief Resident from July 2006 to July 2007 at University of Illinois in Chicago.
She completed her fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Rady Children's Hospital of San Diego in June 2008.
She is a Clinical Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
Her clinical interests include general pediatric otolaryngology, head and neck and thyroid masses, obstructive sleep apnea and other airway problems, and disorders of the ears and nose. Dr. Merz’s research interests include treatment of recurrent respiratory papillomatosis, obstructive sleep apnea and nasal airway obstruction.
