Bomjun Kwon earned a Ph.D. degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of Iowa in 2000.
With his engineering background (B.S. and M.S degree from Seoul National University, in 1992 and 1994) and expertise in auditory science, he worked for Cochlear Corporation as a Principal Research Scientist until 2006, where he conducted scientific studies leading to next generation cochlear implant products, as well as liaisoned between clinicians and engineers. Subsequently, he was Assistant Professor of Audiology at the University of Utah before joining The Ohio State University.
He is a Principal Investigator of a small grant (R03) from the National Institute of Health since December 2008, investigating the feasibility of new and improved use of electrode configurations for speech processing in cochlear implants.
