Hua Hua Tong, M.D. is a Research Assistant professor at the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, at The Ohio State University Medical Center. Dr. Tong received her M.D. degree at Shanghai Medical College, Fudan University, Shanghai, China. She received her Master's degree in Clinical Epidemiology from The University of Newcastle, School of Medicine, Newcastle, Australia.
Her research interests include evaluation of host-bacterial cell interrelationship with the purpose of developing new strategies for prevention of otitis media (OM), host innate immune response in pneumococcal OM, bacterial virulence factors that contribute to the nasopharygeal colonization and the development of OM. Dr. Tong’s project is funded through the National Institute On Deafness And Other Communication Disorders, National Institutes of Health.
