Education has always been a priority and a source of pride for the department. The Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery residency education continues to be the educational focus for departmental faculty.
We provide unparalleled preparation for physicians completing their training here for a career as an otolaryngologist-head and neck surgeon in either an academic or community setting. Opportunities for research within the department are numerous. An extensive conference and didactic schedule is provided within the department. The department is located on the main campus of The Ohio State University and is a part of Ohio State's Medical Center which includes the College of Medicine, University Hospital, and Ohio State's James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. In addition, an arm of the department is located within Nationwide Columbus Children's Hospital, which provides an extensive pediatric experience for our residents. With a population of roughly one million people, Columbus is the largest metropolitan area in the state, the state capitol, and the national headquarters for an impressive number of large corporations.
