Application ProcessApplications for residency are accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) only. This service, which is sponsored by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), transmits residency applications, letters of recommendation, dean's letters, transcripts and other supporting credentials from medical schools to residency program directors. We do not require any documents in addition to ERAS requirements. Please refer to ERAS Web site or the contact person at your school in order to learn more about applying for residency through ERAS. The Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery participates in the National Resident Matching Program. Through this program, four residents will be selected for a traditional five-year otolaryngology residency program. DeadlineThe deadline for receipt of your completed application, with the exception of your dean's letter, is November 1, 2007. Applications that are incomplete as of this date will not be considered. InterviewsApproximately 40 applicants will be selected for an interview. These individuals will be notified by e-mail by November 15, 2007. Those not selected for interviews will also be notified by e-mail around this date. The 2007-2008 resident interview dates are as follows:
The interviews begin at 7 a.m. and end at approximately 4 p.m. Interviewees are also invited to participate in an optional resident gathering that same day from 4-7 p.m. There are no events scheduled the night before the interview day. Please contact Lori Smith for assistance. Eric Dilver |
