Leslie R. Kim, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor and Division Director of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
Dr. Kim obtained her undergraduate and medical degrees through the prestigious Honors Program In Medical Education at Northwestern University, an accelerated seven-year BA/MD program. During her time in Chicago, she also obtained a Master in Public Health degree because of her passion for serving those who are medically underserved, both in the United States and abroad. Following a five-year residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, she underwent advanced training in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Johns Hopkins, highly regarded to be the top academic training program in the nation for facial plastic surgery.
Dr. Kim’s practice focuses exclusively on aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the face. Aesthetic procedures include but are not limited to rhinoplasty, facial rejuvenation surgery (including facelift, browlift, and eyelid surgery), and nonsurgical treatments such as botox injections and fillers. Reconstructive procedures include surgery for nasal obstruction, reanimation after facial paralysis, skin cancer reconstruction (Mohs reconstruction), facial trauma repair, and scar revision.
Dr. Kim has a particular interest in facial paralysis and the restoration of movement to a paralyzed face. She seeks to improve the care of these patients with research in both clinical and quality-of-life outcomes. She has received several research awards and grants including the distinguished Leslie Bernstein Resident Research Grant, an honor given to only two residents each year by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Kim is committed to providing exceptional and compassionate patient care, both at home and abroad. She has been fortunate enough to participate in medical mission trips to perform facial plastic surgery, including cleft lip and palate repair, in Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. She is dedicated to humanitarian work and will continue to volunteer in underserved populations to help adults and children gain access to standard-of-care treatment.
Dr. Kim is a native New Yorker but is thrilled to call Columbus, OH her home. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, running, and creating art professionally utilizing a variety of media. As a physician and an artist, she strives to repair, restore, and enhance facial form and function with the utmost skill while holding the patient’s goals in the highest regard.
