Laura Feeney

Laura Feeney, Au.D., received her Bachelor's degree in Speech and Hearing Science and her Doctorate in Audiology from The Ohio State University. Her interests include diagnostic audiology and hearing aid dispensing. Patients can see Dr. Feeney at our Eye and Ear location.

   
Laura Garish

Laura Garish

Dr. Garish was born and grew up in Upper Arlington, Ohio. She attended Purdue University for two years before returning to Columbus to the Ohio State University, where she completed her undergraduate education in 1992. She continued her education at The University of Akron where she obtained her Master’s degree in 1994. After completing her clinical fellowship in Huntington, WV and directing the Huntington Ear Clinic’s Audiology department she again returned to Columbus in 1996. After a brief stint at a private practice she joined the Ohio State University Medical Center’s Department of Otolaryngology in 1997. Laura completed her clinical doctorate degree in Audiology (Au.D.) in May of 2001 through the University of Florida. In addition to Dr. Garish’s clinical and rehabilitative practice, she is intimately involved and very committed to Project EAR, a non-profit organization dedicated to the eradication of hearing loss and ear disease in third world countries, particularly the Dominican Republic. Laura is a founding member, board member, and the treasurer of Project EAR. Patients can see Dr. Garish at our Dublin location.

   

Nicole Hacker
Audiology Manager, OSU Hearing Professionals

Nicole Hacker, AuD  graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Hearing and Speech Sciences degree from Ohio University in 2000 and completed her Doctor of Audiology degree from Central Michigan University in 2004.   Dr. Hacker previously worked at Pacific University as an Assistant Professor of Audiology and Central Michigan University as the Director of Clinical Instruction & Services for Audiology and has also worked clinically, including owning her own practice and starting an audiology service line in the hospital setting.  She is a member of the American Academy of Audiology, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and Ohio Speech-Language-Hearing Association.  Her areas of interest include medical diagnostics, implantable technologies,  interprofessional collaboration, teleaudiology and global health.  Patients can see Dr. Hacker at our Eye and Ear location.

   
Brenda Hall

Brenda Hall

Brenda Hall graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Master’s degree in Audiology.  She has been with the Department of Otolaryngology for over 10 years.  Her interests include basic audiological testing, working with cochlear implants, and hearing aid patients. Patients can see Dr. Hall ar our Dublin and Eye and Ear locations.

   
Debby LaPrete

Debby LaPrete
Audiologist, OSU Hearing Professionals

Debby LaPrete graduated with a Bachelor's degree from the Ohio State University in 1989 and then earned her Master's degree in 1991 from the University of Cincinnati. She is currently working toward earning the clinical doctorate degree in Audiology. Debby has worked at Ohio State University since 1994 and specializes in providing services to cochlear implant and auditory brainstem implant recipients. Patients can see Dr. LaPrete at our Eye and Ear location.

   

Cari Mickelson

Cari Mickelson graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Audiology. She has worked in a variety of medical settings for the past 25 years. Her interests include diagnostic audiology and hearing aid dispensing. Cari is currently a member of the Ohio Academy of Audiology and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Patients can see Cari at our Gahanna location.

Melissa Schnitzspahn

Melissa Schnitzspahn

Melissa Schnitzspahn received her Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Science from the Ohio State University in 1998 and her Master’s degree in Audiology from the Ohio State University in 2000.In the summer of 2008, she received her Doctor of Audiology degree from the Arizona School of Health Sciences.  She is currently working toward earning a clinical doctorate degree in Audiology.  Melissa’s interests include hearing aid dispensing and cochlear implants. Patients can see Dr. Schnitzspahn at our Eye and Ear location.

   

Eryn L. Staats, MA

Eryn L. Staats, MA received her bachelors degree in speech and hearing science at Ohio University in 1996 and her Masters degree in Audiology from The Ohio State University in 2003.  Her interests include diagnostic audiology and hearing aid dispensing. Patients can see Dr. Staats at our Dublin and Eye and Ear locations.

   

Saul Strieb

Saul Strieb, AuD obtained his bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago and his master’s degree in Audiology from the University of Maryland College Park. He received his Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of Florida in 2009. He served as an audiologist at the Washington Hospital Center from 2001 through 2011, a position which included provision of Audiology services in several private ENT offices in Washington DC. He joined the staff of the OSU Department of Otolaryngology in 2011. His clinical interests include hearing aids, cochlear implants, vestibular assessment, and treatment of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. Patients can see Dr. Strieb at our Eye and Ear Institute.

   

Kara Vasil

Kara Vasil, AuD earned her undergraduate degree in Speech and Hearing Science from the Ohio State University in 2012 and her Doctor of Audiology degree from the Northeast Ohio Au.D. Consortium in 2016. Her clinical interests include diagnostics, cochlear implantation, hearing aid fitting, and assistive devices. Kara is also a research audiologist within OSU’s Buckeye Center for Hearing and Development, working with Dr. Aaron Moberly on adult cochlear implant studies. She is a member of the American Academy of Audiology, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and Ohio Academy of Audiology. Patients can see Dr. Vasil at the Eye and Ear Institute.

   
Gretchen Waggoner

Gretchen Waggoner

Gretchen Waggoner, Au.D. earned her undergraduate degree in Speech and Hearing Science from Ohio University in 1994 and her Master of Science degree in Audiology from Bowling Green State University in 1996. She now holds a Doctor of Audiology degree from the Arizona School of Health Sciences. Dr. Waggoner is a member of the American Academy of Audiology, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and the Ohio Academy of Audiology.  She is an active participant in humanitarian mission work with Project EAR.  Project EAR is a non-profit foundation created to provide ear/hearing healthcare services for impoverished patients in the Dominican Republic.  She has participated in seven mission trips and provides diagnostic services and prepares patients for hearing aid fittings.  Dr. Waggoner’s interests include diagnostic audiology, hearing aid dispensing, and rehabilitation.  Patients can see Dr. Waggoner at our Dublin location.
